Karndean gluedown vinyl flooring is fixed to the sub-floor with adhesive while rigid core flooring simply clicks together, does not require adhesive, and is designed to be laid on top of existing flooring. Rigid core can be laid over most existing hard floors (not carpet) while gluedown flooring must be laid on a prepared screed or suitable boarded sub base.
